Important Notice
You may have received an e-mail purporting to originate from a member of our accounts team at Robinsons, requesting payment for an invoice (without actually providing said invoice or any means of payment).
Please be advised there is no pending invoice, and these e-mails are not originating from Robinsons. They are “spoofed e-mails” (aka. forgeries), made to appear as if sent from a member of our accounts department, with the aim of disrupting our business as we deal with incoming calls and e-mails to address this situation.
We stress this has not been the result of any security breach, stolen passwords, data loss or otherwise. This is happening outside of our own systems and control.
Regrettably, we are unable to prevent such an attack as the e-mails originate from elsewhere over the internet. Our IT department has advised that this can only be mitigated at the recipient’s e-mail server, and we would advise all who have received these e-mails to contact their IT team or e-mail provider immediately and request that they implement what is known as “SPF and DKIM” which is an industry standard to prevent receiving of forged e-mails and is the only way to counter such reprehensible spoofed e-mail spam campaigns.
We at Robinsons have done everything in our power to mitigate and remedy this situation, and wish to use this opportunity to help educate others on securing their e-mail systems to diminish the effectiveness and spread of such malicious activities. Please do feel free to contact our IT department at servicedesk@robinsonsrelo.com if you wish to receive further information and guidance on what you can do to protect yourself and your business.
