Internal Office Move

Natural England is an independent public body whose purpose is to protect and improve England’s natural environment whilst encouraging people to enjoy and get involved in their surroundings. Their aim is to create a better natural environment that covers all of our urban, country and coastal landscapes, along with all of the animals, plants and other organisms that live with alongside the human population.

The ever demanding nature of their business highlighted a need for Natural England to re-organise their office in order to both facilitate and maximise flexible working arrangements.

Robinsons, through a demonstratable partnership history with Natural England, undertook this move on their behalf. Taking 3 days to complete and incorporating a full working weekend in order to minimise disruption during working hours, Robinsons worked with Natural England’s Estates Business Partner to plan the move, incorporating office floor plans, furniture moving. Considerations were given to health and safety matters, fire safety and the continuous working ability of Natural England’s’ employees during office hours on the first day of the move.

The move was completed on-time and in accordance with all client specifications, meeting and exceeding expectations. On this occasion, there was no requirement to utilise the Robinsons Di-vert scheme for unwanted furniture, however this service was made available to Natural England had they required it.

Hospital Building Clearing

Robinsons, the business moving specialist, was contracted by Salford Royal Foundation Trust to clear one of the hospital buildings. This work was undertaken using Robinsons’ intelligent recycling solutions service Di-vert, Britain’s first fully-audited recycling removals scheme.

As part of the hospital’s development programme to redesign services and rebuild facilities, a ten storey block of residences was planned to be demolished. Robinsons had the job of clearing all 160 rooms of bedroom and office furniture before the project could be progressed. This was a large contract, which took two weeks to complete.

The hospital had previously worked with Robinsons on a number of projects but primarily chose to award the company this contract as it guaranteed to fulfil the Trust’s commitment to the community. It did this by being able to prove that it had donated, where possible, the unwanted furniture to local charitable organisations and avoided it ending up in landfill.

Robinsons arranged for the furniture to be donated to a number of charities including the Tree of Life Centre, Age Concern, Salford Community Transport and Wesley Furniture.

Peter Roberts, assistant hospital services manager for the Salford Royal Foundation Trust commented: “By using Robinsons as our removals service it enables the Trust to be entirely transparent and to be able to account for the whereabouts of everything we disposed of during this contract. This was particularly important due to the size of the job.

Roberts continued: “Using Robinsons was also a matter of cost, by removing the need to send huge amounts of waste to landfill; the contract was more cost-effective than the other options we explored.”
